Sister Andrea graduated from Jesus Marie Academy, Fall River and entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in Fall River in 1934. Mont Marie Cemetery was started in the spring of 1971 on the grounds of the Sisters of Saint Joseph Motherhouse. In addition to her Sisters in community she is survived by her sisters, Sr. Maureen Broughan, SSJ of Holyoke and Mary Winchell of Glen Ridge, NJ; by her brothers John W. Broughan of Newport, RI and William Broughan of Greenbrae, CA; and by six nieces and nephews and six grandnieces and nephew. Mont Marie provides world-class rehabilitation and skilled nursing services to the greater Holyoke community. Sister served in the Diocese of Springfield as a teacher at St. Jerome School, Holyoke, St. Patrick School, Chicopee and Cathedral High School, Springfield. She retired to St. Joseph Residence, Mont Marie in 2003. Burial will follow in Mont Marie Cemetery. Sister Annette Marie entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of LePuy in Fall River, Mass. She was a spiritual director, offering private direction, programs and retreats, often in conjunction with Mercy Center at Madison, Madison, Conn. An accomplished potter, Sister Catherine was a member of Wesleyan Potters in Connecticut; she was to become President of the organization in the near future. Sister ministered in the Diocese of Springfield at Annunciation School, Northampton, St. Mary School, Pittsfield and for most of her teaching career in Holyoke, at Sacred Heart School, St. Jerome School, Blessed Sacrament School as principal, and at Holyoke Catholic where she was Director of Performing Arts and coordinator of Community Service.
